| The board of directors today announced the
appointment of Thor Mietetennen (pronounced th-or) as Chief Executive
Officer of the company formerly known as PH. Mietetennen currently is
Vice Chairman of Marketing, Technology and Posing at Troikia, the
Finnish mobile phone maker.
In a statement, the Board of Directors said, "When searching for a
new CEO, we decided first to emphasize experience, maturity and strength
of execution.. Then we changed our minds and decided to go for another
egotistical prima donna who will undoubtedly grab a lot more headlines."
Mietetennen echoed the board's feelings by saying, "Its great to be
asked to lead a winning team with winning products and a winning
attitude. Its also great to be asked to lead this company."
Mietetennen is a mobile technology pioneer and is known for a number
of firsts including first mass layoff notification performed entirely by
SMS. At Troikia he was responsible for strategic acquisitions and led
the firm's purchase of over a dozen other companies that were moved to
Helsinki and never heard from again. He is known for strong control of
the bottom line and personally reviews every purchase order over one
euro.
Mietetennen is an avid cell phone user, and can be found
talking on his mobile while walking, driving, eating, showering and
sleeping. When he's not talking, he's usually typing. A true
believer in mobile technology, he has never been known to write or read
anything longer than 128 characters.
Mietetennen received the Dpl M. in Video Games from the University of
Helsinki in 1981 and served in the Finnish RDF Special Forces from 1982
to 1983. He currently lives outside Jyväslylä with his two rare albino
wolves, Attila and Petteri. |
