The First Lady of the Computer Industry Is Back!

When Karla Fidora told us she plans to do to the McCain Campaign what she did to PH, we only had one question: "what position"?

  PH: Karla, you're looking great!

Karla: Oh well, I know what you're thinking! When I left PH, they told me I could either keep the $26 million severance or the facelifts they paid for, but not both. People told me in politics it's age before beauty - plus they had my cheeks pulled so far back I had to breathe through a hole they drilled through the top of my head and these west coast allergies were a killer for this Jersey Girl.

PH: How did you get the new gig at the McCain Campaign.

Karla: Well, through the Republican Leadership Development Program. It's a great organization for growing top level talent for campaign leadership roles and cabinet posts. Some of the other top leaders in my "class" included Harriet Miers, Michael Brown and Alberto Gonzalez.

PH: Senator McCain is taking some flak for his proposal to temporarily cut gasoline taxes this summer. Most leading economists say could actually drive gas prices even higher by encouraging consumption.

Karla: Let me stop you. First of all Senator McCain is proposing to permanently cut taxes on Aviation Fuel for Private Jets.  This benefit should trickle down to the entire traveling public over time. Secondly too many so-called economists are stuck in what I call the Old Economy. Senator McCain's proposal is based in the New Economy.

PH: OK, well how will this proposal work in the New Economy.

Karla: What's your next question?

PH: What's your strategy for winning the election for Senator McCain.

Karla: Well this is where my experience at PH and the Great American Wire and Cable Company come in. Strategic vision is what's going to win this election for the Republicans. First of all I believe that to compete you've got to be either number one or number two in your core business. So I'm looking for a strategic merger partner for the campaign and I would have to say that Hillary Clinton's campaign looks like the best overall fit.

PH:  Do you plan exploit Senator Obama's recent Preachergate or Bittergate gaffes?

Karla: Look, Senator McCain and I want to run a campaign based on the issues. If other people have questions about Senator Obama's patriotism, his refusal to wear a flag pin, and his apparently very close relationship with former known terrorists that goes back to when he was eight years old, that's their right. But that's not the kind of campaign we want to run.

PH: How is the fundraising going for Senator McCain's campaign?

Karla: It's going very well. Obviously this is one of the reasons I was selected for this job. I've initiated a complete re-engineering of our technology base to support Internet 3.0 style social networking and next generation, neural net transactions. We're hoping to have it all  up in Q2 2009 at the latest.
